WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Have you been struggling to create signature images time and time again in your home that show the reader your brand?
Kita believes in mastering your tool, whatever it may be. Once you have truly bonded with the camera, snapping consistent photos over and over again becomes second nature. In our 2 ½ days, you are going to have over 8 hours of hands on camera time, from building a scene that is bigger than a 2’x 2’ area, curating your personal props, to snapping the perfect photo in less than 5 shots. (Imagine that! It took me YEARS to not take at least 30 per recipe!)
Having trouble mastering your camera? Feel free to pick Kita’s brain as she shares her pro insights
Understanding the fundamentals? A classroom style lesson is planned to explain the WHY behind how your camera reacts to the changes you program.
Lighting?! Props?! Colors?! Oh, my. Learn what solutions are there for when the days just aren’t perfect, and you can't seem to wrap your head around what works

Taking Kita's photography workshop has improved my food photography skills dramatically. So much so that brands are now reaching out to me just because of my photos. While I was comfortable behind the lens before, Kita taught me things I never knew about my camera, really amping up my game. Plus, she took the one-on-one time with me to understand my brand to help me adjust lighting and styling to help my brand evolve. If you want your food to get noticed, I highly recommend taking her workshop.

Since taking Kita’s Foodie Photo Workshop last year I’ve won a $5,000 culinary photo contest, a $2,500 food photo contest and have become a food photographer providing social media content for a major wine company. The wine company said they love my style ~ little do they know my style was learned at Kita's workshop just a few months before. I think that the amount you spend on this class will come back to you double fold within a few months of completing the workshop.
I learned so much at Foodie Pop-Up workshop and had so much fun! I am an "old dog" that needed extra help! Kita is encouraging and patient. I benefitted from learning and practicing on the spot how to shoot in aperture, tricks on lighting, and how to artistically set the stage for a “natural” looking food photo! If you want to improve your food photography skills (even if you are an old dog - LoL) invest in yourself and take a Foodie Pop-Up Workshop!

ABOUT KITA
Kita has been snapping photos since she was in high school developing black and white film in a tiny photo lab. Her photography skills are mostly self-learned through lots of practice, but her eye and look have become part of her signature brand and highly marketable as she continues to shoot more corporate. A high contrast and dark, moody vibe comes from her days of darkroom processing but finding new ways to chase light and master photography skills are what drives her. She has been working in the food blog industry since 2010 on both Pass the Sushi and Girl Carnivore. In the past few years, she has embraced childhood dreams and put the camera first as a professional photographer shooting corporate, restaurants, menus, personalized headshots, weddings, and more.
Kita loves teaching, mountain biking, and traveling the globe. Someday, Kita plans to live in an air stream with her loyal dog going from city to city sampling biscuits and BBQ along the way.
